Amy Dillon

Kildare based songwriter Amy Dillon is an artist who creates an uplifting, atmospheric experience with her music. Blending smooth piano melodies with raw lyrics, she uses soul and vulnerability to connect with her tribe. Her music resonates introspection, with a spiritual element that touches on modern day issues such as mental health and resilience in a chaotic world. After selling out her first headline show in Whelans, she is currently working on her next single release.

Eimear Quinn

Eimear Quinn is one of the pre-eminent Irish voices of her generation. Occupying the space where Traditional meets Classical and Sacred, she is most noted for her interpretation of song allowing for a deep, almost spiritual connection with the audience. As a classically trained soprano with a background specialising in Early and Choral music, she made her international debut in 1996, when she won the Eurovision Song Contest for Ireland with the haunting ballad ‘The Voice’ written by Brendan Graham.

Daire Patel

A 22 year old artist influenced by Mac Miller and Frank Ocean, Daire Patel combines a hip-hop feel with a lo-fi bedroom pop sound. Of his three 2019 tracks, his Christmas Day 2019 release 'Hold Me Down' is just about to break 250k Spotify plays. 2020’s releases kicked off with the exquisite ‘Sirens’, immediately appearing on a selection of influential playlists and enjoying radio play on RTE and BBC, as well as being placed on the acclaimed Irish drama series 'Smother'. The later part of the year saw him being invited to take part in RTE's Illuminations project, a cultural responses to world events, to which he contributed his collaboration with producer 1000 Beats 'Summer In The City'.

Sinéad White

Sinéad White is a singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist from Leixlip Co. Kildare. She released her debut album in 2015 and is set to release a self produced EP in February 2022. She recently collaborated on a track from Elaine Mai's debut album, Home, and is a long time collaborator of electronic music producer Daithí.

Jack L

Lukeman first came to prominence in the summer of 1995 when he and The Black Romantics took up a residency at The Da Club (Dublin Arts Club) in Dublin selling out night after night. The band’s set included interpretations of the famous Belgium Bard Jacques Brel along with several of Jack’s own compositions. The band recorded the album Wax in 1995 before splitting in 1997. From 1999 to 2016 Jack has released a steady stream of critically acclaimed original albums and compilations. He has also performed over the years supporting or alongside U2, Ronnie Wood, Robert Plant and Jimmy Page, John Lee Hooker, Elvis Costello, Jools Holland, and Marianne Faithfull, and has appeared at venues such as Olympia Paris, Royal Albert Hall in London, and The Lincoln Center in NYC.

Celine Byrne

Celine Byrne is a lyric soprano from Kildare, Ireland. She received her Masters in Music from the Royal Irish Academy of Music in 2007, where she studied with Dr. Veronica Dunne, also receiving the RIAM award for outstanding achievement. In addition, she has an honours Music Degree from the Conservatory of Music and Drama, Dublin, where she was awarded the college Gold Medal for excellence. She has received coaching at the National Opera Studio of London and has studied with Christa Ludwig at the Vienna Staatsoper. Celine is recognised nationally and internationally as one of opera’s great stars.

Pillow Queens

Since forming in Dublin in late 2016, Pillow Queens have seen their initial word of mouth buzz grow with every new release. From sharing stages with the likes of IDLES , Soak and Pussy Riot, to their own sold out shows, the band have developed a community of loyal and passionate fans. The winter of 2019 saw the band travel to the wilds of rural Co. Donegal to record their debut album with award winning producer Tommy Mclaughlin (Soak/Hannah Peel). Released through the bands own label in September 2020 to near universal critical acclaim, IN WAITING surpassed all expectations, with The Irish Times 5-star review calling it “An Emotional Masterpiece”.

Sequence

With the Irish urban and hip-hop scenes constantly expanding to include new genres and sounds, the increasing influence of Afrobeat is being felt across the country - not least in the music of young artist and video maker Sequence. The past few years have seen him build an audience both at home and in the UK, the latter through his appearance on the influential Afro Bashment Spotify playlist, while his debut Take Time EP led to a Longitude festival appearance.

Sharyn Ward

Sharyn Ward is a very proud Traveller woman and Irish singer/songwriter. In 2019, Sharyn was a finalist in Ireland's Got Talent. Today she continues to perform across Ireland while juggling motherhood and life in the music studio.

Loah

Loah is Sallay Matu Garnett, an artist of Irish / Sierra Leonean origin who grew up between Maynooth and West Africa. She has just returned to Ireland after starring as Mary Magdalene in Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s iconic Jesus Christ Superstar at the Barbican, London in 2019. With her unique blend of Afro-folksoul, she released her debut EP This Heart in 2017 followed by an entire EP of remixes in 2018. She has featured on records by Lisa Hannigan and Kíla, co-written with Hozier and shared stages with greats in multiple genres such as the Wainwrights, Paul Brady, Bilal and Cassandra Wilson. She has toured in Ireland, the UK, Sierra Leone, Iceland, France and the USA and has multiple television and film appearances to her name (Striking Out, Finding Joy, Girl from Mogadishu).

Host

MayKay

MayKay (Mary-Kate Geraghty) is a TV presenter and musician. After initially finding fame as the frontwoman of indie-punk band Fight Like Apes, she went on to join Le Galaxie and perform solo. She is also a regular presence on our screens hosting music shows like Other Voices and Imbolc, the recent RTÉ special that featured an all-female Irish line-up including Emma Langford, Erica Cody and Wyvern Lingo. Given her job, MayKay has seen more gigs over the last year than most of us can dream of - about 50, she reckons - but she's desperate for proper nights out to return and is so excited to be hosting Kildare Culture's Comeback series of live and streamed shows
